Argumentative Essay

Write an argumentative essay in which you try to persuade your reader to agree with your opinion about a controversial topic.

Your essay should include these five elements:
1. An explanation of the issue
2. A clear thesis statement stating your position on the issue
3. A summary of the opposing arguments
4. Rebuttals o the opposing arguments
5. Your own arguments

Here are the topics for to consider. Choose one or create one of your own.
1. Television is the best/worst invention of modern times.
2. Violence in video games, movies, and television programs should be censored.
3. Elementary schools around the world should be required to teach English to their students.
4. Engaged couples should be required to take marriage preparation classes for one full year before their wedding.
