My first day and my first week in Houston were indelible. I was sleeping :-)) because time differs between Almaty and Houston for 13 hours. I merely went to Galleria once, but my impressions about that trip were not good; there were too much gays. In exUSSR to be a gay is the huge shame. That's why seeing them wasn't pleasure.

When I first came here before 9 months, the biggest problem that I faced is sleeping. This problem was very hard for me because I used to sleep only in my home. Also, I used to sleep with my own pillow and my own bed. The First two months I couldn't sleep very well. Sleeping is the only problem that I faced since I got here.

This is my fifth time come to America and third time come to Houston. My first time in Houston was about 10 years ago. So I remember nothing right now. Maybe excited, maybe a little bit strained. But this time, I just felt like normal. Nothing hard for me!~

My first week in Houston is not good because I arrived Houston just before the Hurricane Ike. That's why my first week in Houston is too boring. I spend all my week just eating and sleeping but now I am getting used to live in Houston and I like to be here.

Actually, this is the first time I came to America. I arrived here on Sep. 3rd, and I remembered when the airplane landed on Houston, the first reaction was fear. I didn’t know how a new life would be here, and how to cope with everything by myself. After relieving the fear, I just expected the life here. Everything for me was new .I tried to acclimatize myself to living in a new city. Now, I have met a lot of friends here, and also learnt different cultures. I’m happy for coming here.

My first two days in Houston was in the chinatown because I didn't know too much English that time. I thought I couldn't live in a place in which nobody could speak Chinese. But after that two days, I moved to campus. I had to use English to ask something or to ordered what I wanted to eat. I couldn't understand what they were talking or what I could say. That was a hard time to me.

On my second day in Houston, I took a bus but I didn't know where the bus was going.I took it just to discover some places but I got lost =) It was really fun.(But only first and second month was fun. Now it's kind of boring) =)

the first day,in fact it is the first night because i came to Houston at 10 pm, i was anxious and tired since i lost my hand-carried luggage at the airport. i had sent it accompanied with my sent luggage when i transited at the Los Angeles airport. after claiming, the lady at the airport told me that i had to wait for the next day in order to know exactly where it is. As reaching my room, i slept when i was arranging all my stuff. my first day was not interesting at all
